For years I hustled with heart. I was burnt out, exhausted, and torn between my family and my business.
I remember being a new mom and so desperately wanting to be home with my babies. My husband and I tested living off just his income for 8 months before I actually gave birth and we started to make our plans. I had no idea what I'd do to make up the difference from my lost paycheck but we took the leap of faith and I became a full time mama. I remember nannying for friends and doing freelance work helping women launch their brick and mortar businesses. It was great for extra cash, but after we had our second baby, funds got tight. We were living paycheck to paycheck and I knew I had to find a way to keep me from having to leave my babies and go back to work.
I was desperate - until I learned how to leverage social media
and start my online business.
Over the course of 8 years I built up 3 successful online brands-but I found myself missing out on truly cultivating life with my spouse and kids. I'd stay up late googling everything there was to know, wake up sleep deprived, working in cracks of time around being mama, knowing I'd have to sacrifice for a while in order to make this work.
Being a work at home mom means you're pulled in a million different directions and there never seemed to be enough of me to go around. My kids turned into teens, and my conviction of not being a present mama quickly grew. I longed to enjoy more time with them and still be able to earn an income from my business, but I had been spinning my wheels so long, I didn't know what to do.
The business gurus had taught me I had to work harder and continue to pivot in order to achieve success, but God's Word kept pulling me to press in to my strengths and giftings. The World was pulling me into "the more" I always had to do (that I could never keep up with!), and The Lord kept nudging me to lean into Him for clarity and vision. He asked me to trust HIM to ESTABLISH my work and bring the fruit.
God was calling me to something better, I just couldn't put my finger on how
to bring that to life. Maybe you're in that same space too...
I stopped working my business, put my faith and family first, and to my surprise, the Lord SUSTAINED -and helped me ESTABLISH what I had built -- teaching me NEW & VALUABLE lessons along the way. As I partnered with God with faith-fueled strategy and intention, I could hear Him clearly as he taught me what to do.
