So what’s the big deal with hormones? Honestly, they don’t discriminate. Each and every human has them. Both the good and the bad. And each and every one of us gets bombarded daily...whether it be from environmental factors, the products we are using and breathing in, and age...yup. The clock that ticks isn't always kind to us.
Here are a couple products we use in our home. Young Living has thought of everything and it's time we pay attention. Even kids get the adrenal support they need! Why ignore the signs and symptoms when we could be addressing and moving on...happy and healthy?
So first of all, let's get a little science-y.
Your endocrine system includes all the glands in your body that make hormones. These chemical messengers play a key role in making sure your body works the way it should. If your endocrine system isn't healthy, you might have problems managing stress, developing during puberty, or getting pregnant (I can raise my hand having experienced all 3!!) You also might gain weight easily, have weak bones, or lack energy because too much sugar stays in your blood instead of moving into your cells where it's needed for energy.
Many different glands make up the endocrine system: the hypothalamus, pituitary gland, and pineal gland are in your brain. The thyroid and parathyroid glands are in your neck. The thymus is between your lungs, the adrenals are on top of your kidneys, and the pancreas is behind your stomach. Your ovaries (if you're a woman) or testes (if you're a man) are in your pelvic region.
As a woman, I've gone through some pretty crazy female issues. I've battled the highs and lows of hormones, late development during Puberty, Endometriosis, Polycystic Ovary Syndrome, Dense Breast Tissue, Infertility and then a spike and offset of my hormones in my early 30's that threw me for a loop. I've had multiple incidents with bursting cysts, and had to have a Laparoscopy as a last ditch effort to get pregnant with my son (my husband did not want us to start the Chlomid route). Needless to say, I had no idea where to start back then, but thankfully, I've lived to tell and can share with you my journey.
It wasn't until I started learning how the female body works that I was able to support my systems properly.
My journey into discovering these causes began with an incredible year long battle with cystic acne that started in my early 30's. It was so embarrassing for me having never experienced anything like this before. I could not walk around without makeup on my face, and I hated that my skin wasn't a reflection of the person I wanted people to see. I had the kind acne that you just can't cover up --the cystic deep boil like lumps that would start at the beginning of my cycle and not end until it began again. Nothing I used would heal my skin. Nothing was stopping the cycle from continuing.
That's when I learned that my hormones were the cause. Dr. Edie Wadsworth was a guide for me. Click Here to listen to her share.
Did you know that daily environmental factors can affect your hormones?
A huge way to ensure you're not doing this to yourself is to go through your home and start looking at your products. What are the ingredients and what side effects do they cause? I switched out all my toxic cleaning products and went with a plant-based solution instead. Thieves Concentrated Household Cleaner replaced EVERY product in my home. One and done. That was easy! I did the same for my personal care items, and then moved on to my skincare and makeup. Clean ingredients are SO important to avoid the bio-accumulation (build up) in the body that throws your systems off.
But what about supporting my body from the inside out?
Let's get into Endoflex.
Endoflex is a great support to keeping the Thyroid happy! Our thyroid is one of the major glands in our endocrine system and is extremely vital when it comes to producing happy hormones! When it isn’t working well, there may be increased anxiety and nervousness, hair loss, missed menstrual cycles, trouble sleeping, excess energy or no energy at all, dry skin, joint and muscle pain--I could go on and on! With all that, we want to make sure our thyroids are receiving the love it needs, right?!
Endoflex is an Essential Oils blend of Spearmint, Sage, Geranium, Myrtle, and Nutmeg. All essential oils that support not only my thyroid, but my endocrine system and adrenal glands as well.
- Spearmint: A rocket pack for your metabolism while supporting your nervous system to bring beautiful balance.
- Sage: Commonly used for purification and release of the negativity that wears us down from the inside.
- Geranium: Say "I love you" to your hormones, liver, and pancreas with some floral TLC.
- Myrtle: You say "Thyroid?" I say, "Myrtle!" Pair them together and watch the beautiful friendship begin.
- German Chamomile: Calming to your system and especially supportive of healthy liver function.
- Nutmeg: And here is your adrenal support. Like a car that can't shift into the next gear, with our adrenals worn out, we will sputter and find no oomph to continue moving forward.
- Sesame Seed Oil: Rich in Vitamin E and nourishing to the skin and body.
This is how I use it:
- Many apply daily over the thyroid area, kidneys, feet and/or inner ankles (vitaflex point). Really, just get it on you--your body will take it where it needs to go!
- EndoFlex Vitality is often dropped under the tongue or taken in a capsule.
- Both applications can be diluted if needed.
- Ladies, pair with Progessence Plus for a dynamic duo! Guys, pair with Shutran!
Endoflex and Kids:
I've recently seen more testimonies where mom's are turning to this oil for their kids. So many children deal with imbalances in these areas that cause... wait for it... sleep issues and tantrums.
Most of us work so hard at supporting our babies/toddlers/children's immune systems and digestive systems, but let's not forget that they have an endocrine system too that needs support.
How to Apply:
Like any new oil, the feet is a good place to start. You can always adjust to other areas on the body, like the front of neck. You are the mama, and you know your child. So start slow, dilute as needed and adjust from there.
"For the babies and toddlers, bottom of feet does suffice and maybe a little bit diluted over the liver and let them smell it for a bit. For maintenance, I would just do it a few times a week... or as needed if emotions or sleep is wonky.
With older kids who can self-apply, I would teach them about their endocrine system and where their glands - rolling over the Thyroid is a great place to start. Maybe give some diluted in a roller for the ones that like to roll on a lot of oil.
Also, during growth spurts and changes including puberty, you can put a few drops in some NingXia Red daily.
And this is why EndoFlex is included in the Golden Touch Kit. EVERY Mom needs that collection - Seriously, look at all the oils in that collection. It truly is one of the best "Dr. Mom" collections we have... Mom's "Golden Touch"... that's how I think about it."
