Every woman deserves a little pampering. Especially mama's who work all day pouring in to their sweet babes . This past month some amazing friends of mine planned the most relaxing retreat to allow us time to rest and refresh. We spent time in The Word, connecting with each other over sweet treats and coffee. We sat by the fireplace and prayed together, had the most amazing lunch and desserts, and crafted and created things that would cause us to be intentional with our time back at home.
We also decided to do something to bless some other ladies--friends of ours who we really felt could use a pick me up. So we made care packages and blessing bags for women we knew just needed it. There's no sense in rising up if you can't take your sisters with you. Amen?
So here is what we made in case you want to recreate it. I'm also throwing in some extra recipes just because it's FUN to have options!!
SHOWER STEAMER DISCS
These are our Shower Steamers. They smell AMAZING and transform your bathroom into a SPA. It makes every mom's space the perfect oasis--even if her kids are screaming for her on the other side of the door!! You NEED these in your life, so let me tell you how to make them!!
1 Cup Baking Soda
1/2 Cup Water
Your Favorite Young Living Essential Oils!
Preheat Oven to 350
Mix Baking Soda & Water to form a paste
Fill each muffin spot half way (I used the Pampered Chef Mini Muffin Trays)
Bake 15-20 minutes.
The trick with these is to allow them to cool sufficiently. And I'd guess to be safe, like 45 minutes to an hour. When you do that, they pop out easily from the tin.
Add 2-3 drops each of your favorite oils. To create the perfect spa experience, we chose Eucalyptus Radiata & Lavender. The combination is AMAZING. To really amp it up, my fave is adding in a little Rosemary!
Store or Gift in a glass jar. Target has the cutest ones in their Dollar Spot so I always check there first!
Simply place a disc on the shower floor out of direct water and allow the heat and water to diffuse the oils and transform your experience!
DETOX BATH SALTS
Ok, so I'm going to be honest. We didn't let all our shower steamers cool the entire way. We were on a schedule and some of our discs just didn't make the cut! Sooo, when I got home, I made some bath salts out of them-cause not everyone's a shower kinda gal and some women love to take a nice long soak in their tub instead!
How did I make these?
I just smashed up the steamers, and mixed them with some Epsom salts. The baking soda in the discs makes for the perfect detox soak and the salts disperse those oils into the water. It's dreamy! Store in an airtight glass jar--again Target Dollar Spot always has my back!
Sprinkle about a half jars worth into the tub and allow to disperse in water. Enjoy!
A great way to pair this pampering DIY Detox is with a sprig of Eucalyptus and some pink velvet ribbon to tie it all together! Another option? Use it as a foot soak and pair it with a pretty polish too!
Side note for all the Mamas:
This also works great as a calming detox bath for kids! When children have a well established night time routine, they get better sleep, which leads to healthier, happier babes--and some well needed quite time for parents too!
Pair this with our Seedlings body lotion and a quick swipe of some bedtime rollers and you've got the perfect pairing for a night well spent! See Why Ever Mom Needs Oils HERE.
Gift this all around for SO many reasons!
Here is a picture of my little man after his afternoon detox bath today!
GOOD DAY BATH/SHOWER GEL
Ok so this next recipe is from another oily friend, Sara from an event she held at her home recently too.
2 TB Mango Butter, Melted
2 TB Castor Oil
1 TB vegetable glycerin
1 tsp xanthum gum
1/2 cup unscented castile soap
1/3 cup warm water
15 drops of your favorite Young Living Essential Oil(s)!
Add the melted shea butter, jojoba oil nad glycerin to a medium-size bowl. Sprinkle he xanthum gum over the top. Allow the gum to rest for 1 minute. After 1 minute, use the immersion blender to dissolve the gum into the mixture-pulse the immersion blender for 1 minute. Add the castile soap and warm water to the bowl. Place the immersion blender at the bottom of the bowl. Blend the mixture with the immersion blender for 1-2 more minutes, pulsing up and down. The mixture should then turn into a creamy lotion-like consistency during this time.
Pour the shower gel into a soap dispenser. While the mixture won't separate, I recommend giving the container a gentle shake before each use.
This last DIY is a blessing because no one's got time for being sick!! So anything we can do to freshen up our space is definitely worth gifting!!! This Thieves Spray can be used on doorknobs, handles, surfaces and even bed linens. We've been using this spray daily in our home to help keep our surfaces fresh and clean! And if you want to change it up to make it more of an emo
